I’m Thankful For…

As families across America gather around their tables or TVs to commemorate a holiday that is all about giving thanks, I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to list a few things that I am incredibly grateful for:

A loving family Far too often in my life, I have taken my family for granted. But as I get older, I have seen time and time again how blessed I am to have them in my life. Sure, we all get on each other’s nerves time and time again, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world. They are quick to encourage and have been the primary supporters of some of my most outlandish goals.

An amazing job Sometimes I feel like I need to pinch myself to see if my life is a dream because it is excellent. I get to plan events that allow me to use my overly-detail oriented brain to make sure that each of the events that I plan can be a success. I have some incredible co-workers, I am challenged to continue developing as a professional, and I get to travel for my job. How could I possibly complain about that?

Straight-shooting friends One of the (many) qualities that I admire the most in my close friends is their ability to say things like they are. My friends have the enviable ability to graciously tell me what they are honestly thinking. Yes, it would be easier to surround myself with yes men and women, but doing so would not provide me the same amount of growth that comes from friends who tell me what I need to hear instead of just what I want to hear.

The ability to write about what I love I sometimes take for granted my ability to write about my passions, travel, and challenges. Even though my blog is not by any means a full-time job, it has provided me an outlet to write about what inspires me and to push myself to live life to the fullest instead of just to a comfortable level. I’m not sure what lies ahead with my blog, but I look forward to finding out.

I could continue going on and on about the things that I am thankful for, but I should stop writing so I can spend more time with family. All that is left to say is, Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I hope that you can take a few moments to consider how much there is to be thankful for.
